The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the Koderma-Barkakana Rail Line Doubling Project in Jharkhand and the Ballari-Chikjajur Rail Line Doubling Project in Karnataka worth Rs 64.05 billion.
These are:
- The Koderma-Barkakana Rail Line Doubling Project involves doubling of an existing 133 km long railway line from Koderma to Barkakana in Jharkhand at an estimated cost of Rs 30.63 billion.
- The Ballari-Chikjajur Rail Line Doubling Project involves doubling of an existing 185 km long railway line from Ballari to Chikjajur in Karnataka at an estimated cost of Rs 33.42 billion.
