V. O. Chidambaranar Port completes dredging to berth fully loaded Panamax vessels

V. O. Chidambaranar Port Authority has completed dredging at its North Cargo Berth-III, enabling it to handle fully loaded Panamax vessels with a draft of 14.2 metres. The port has also widened its turning circle from 488 metres to 550 metres, allowing seamless berthing for Panamax container vessels and attracting mainline carriers.

Additionally, the port has reclaimed 11.5 hectares of land within the customs-bound area by repurposing dredged material, which will be used for cargo storage.
