DP World is starting ship-leasing operations in India through a new subsidiary in Gujarat’s GIFT City, an international financial services centre.
The company plans to commence operations with four vessels and has already secured approval from Indian authorities. The leased ships may carry either an Indian or international flag, with DP World potentially acquiring vessels for leasing or sub-leasing Indian-flagged ships.
