Northern Railway has completed the construction work on the Jammu-Udhampur-Katra-Qazigund-Baramulla New Rail Line Project in Jammu & Kashmir.
The project involved laying of 345 km long new railway line joining the Kashmir Valley with Indian Railways (IR) network from Jammu to Baramulla via Udhampur, Katra and Qazigund with an investment of Rs 425 billion. It is expected to provide an alternative and a reliable transportation system to Jammu & Kashmir.
