State Urban Development Agency, Chhattisgarh allocates funds for implementation of water supply scheme in three towns in Bilaspur

The State Urban Development Agency of Chhattisgarh has allocated funds worth Rs 2,028.4 million for the implementation of water supply schemes (WSS) at Lormi, Mungeli and Takhatpur towns in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0.

The scope of the project includes supply of raw water to three towns from the Khudia reservoir, purification, and distribution systems benefitting 17,000 families. Under the project, the water from the Khudia reservoir will be pumped to a constructed reservoir at Kari Dongri, situated three-km away. Then this water will be provided to three cities through a 75-km long gravity-based system. Along with that, a 8.5 million litres per day (mld) water treatment plant (WTP) will be constructed at Lormi and a 8 km network for clean water distribution in the city. Additionally, a 80 km distribution network will be laid to ensure house tap water connections and three high-level reservoirs including supervisory control and data acquisition and automation.
