National Capital Region Transport (NCRTC) commenced trial runs on the Meerut South-Meerut Central stretch under the Meerut metro project on January 12, 2025.
Meerut metro rail spans across 23 km that includes 18 km of elevated and 5 km of underground stretches. It has 13 stations in total, of which nine are elevated, three are underground and one is at grade station. These stations are Meerut south, Partapur, Rithani, Shatabdi Nagar, Brahmpuri, Meerut Central, Bhainsali, Begumpul, MES Colony, Daurli, Meerut North, Modipuram and Modipuram Depot.
