According to data released by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), telecom tower installations in India have reached 816,763 as of December 30, 2024, reflecting a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 3.84 per cent compared to 786,590 towers on December 30, 2023.
Similarly, the number of base transceiver stations (BTS) installed has risen to 2.95 million as of the same date, marking a 2.80 per cent YoY increase from December 30, 2023.
Notably, in December 2024 alone, 2,747 new towers were installed across the country.
