On December 25, 2024, Vizhinjam Port in Kerala welcomed its 100th commercial vessel, MSC Michela. The vessel has a length overall (LOA) of 299.87 metres and a draft of 12.5 metres. It has arrived from Mumbai and will depart for Shanghai after completing the unloading of containers.
Vizhinjam Port is India’s first semi-automated port and is equipped with modern equipment, advanced automation and information technology systems.
