TBM Amrit (372) achieves first breakthrough at Maa Anandmayee Marg station under Delhi metro project phase IV

Tunnel boring machine (TBM) Amrit (372) has achieved its first breakthrough at the Maa Anandmayee Marg station for package DC-07 under the Delhi metro project phase IV. It was commissioned in June 2023 at the Airforce launch shaft and travelled for 2.65 km till Maa Anandmayee Marg station.

Package DC-07 was awarded to Afcons Infrastructure Limited in January 2022.

Delhi metro project – phase IV involves development of a 103.93 km long metro rail network comprising six corridors with an investment of Rs 468 billion. The three corridors to be developed on a priority basis are Maujpur-Mukundpur (12.31 km), Janakpuri West-RK Ashram (29.26 km) and Aerocity-Tughlakabad (23.62 km). In March 2024, the corridor 2 (Inderlok-Indraprastha) and corridor 6 (Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block) were approved by the central government at an investment of Rs 83.99 billion.
