NHAI to construct two flyovers and underpass on Delhi-Jaipur-Ajmer route to ease traffic flow

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced plans to construct two new flyovers and an underpass on the Delhi-Jaipur-Ajmer route, with an investment exceeding Rs 2 billion. This initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce travel time on this critical route. NHAI is in the process of finalising a detailed project report for submission to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) by the end of November 2024.

The project focuses on enhancing traffic flow, particularly at the Ajmer Road intersection, a known bottleneck during peak hours. A key component of the plan includes a new flyover, running parallel to a 200-foot culvert, which will improve vehicle movement from Ajmer, Bagru, and Bhankrota towards Delhi and Sikar. Upon approval, tenders for the project are expected to be issued by January 2025, enabling faster and smoother commutes along the Delhi-Jaipur-Ajmer corridor.
