Air services operated by IndiGo connecting Vijayawada and New Delhi were inaugurated on September 14, 2024. Further, a new approach road to the airport was inaugurated. A review was also carried out of the construction of a new terminal at the airport.
A flight connecting the airport to Visakhapatnam is expected to be launched on October 27, 2024. Flights will also be launched connecting to Mysore soon. Efforts are also underway to operationalise flights from Vijayawada to Dubai and Singapore.
