The installation of a 287 km sewer network under phase II of the Tiruchirappalli underground drainage project (UGD) has been completed in Tamil Nadu. Currently, 50 house services connections (HSCs) are remaining under phase II.
Under phase III, 10 km of sewer network and 2,704 HSCs are remaining.
Under the Revamp of Sewerage Network in ABD Areas of Tiruchirappalli, about 7 km of sewer network in core city areas and 14,397 HSCs are remaining.
Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has also announced the execution of phase IV of the UGD project to cover the remaining areas of the city. Construction work on this phase is likely to commence soon.
