The government of Andhra Pradesh government has approved the allotment of over 800 acres of land in Vizianagaram district to Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) at a 25 per cent discount for the establishment of a giga-scale artificial intelligence (AI) data centre with a cable landing station (CLS), entailing an investment of over Rs 1.08 trillion.
The IT secretary directed the Andhra Pradesh Industrial and Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) and the Vizianagaram district administration to identify an additional plot of land suitable for the cable landing station.
APIIC has identified land for the project across Polipalli, Bhogapuram West and Bhogapuram East villages in Vizianagaram district, according to the government order.
The government also approved a package of tailored fiscal and non-fiscal incentives for the Rs 18.4 trillion conglomerate, including exemptions, subsidies, reimbursements, discounts, waivers and other concessions to support the project.
