The Haji Ali-Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan North-bound section of the Mumbai Coastal Road Project has now been opened for public use. Around 91 per cent of construction work has been completed on the project.
The project involves the construction of a 29.2 km (10.58 km in Phase I) long eight-lane coastal road which will run parallel to the existing stretch going from Nariman Point to Kandivali in Maharashtra at an investment of Rs 130.6 billion. It will start from Manora Guest House opposite Mantralaya and progress through a tunnel between the NCPA and Air India building.
The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai is implementing the project on engineering, procurement and construction mode.
