As per data by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), domestic passenger traffic from January 2024 to June 2024 rose around 4.3 per cent to 79.3 million passengers from around 76.1 million passengers during the same period in 2023, witnessing the highest half-year traffic. June 2024 recorded domestic passenger traffic of 13.2 million, a 5.76 per cent rise from around 12.5 million in June 2023.
IndiGo had the highest market share in terms of passengers carried at almost 61 per cent for June 2024, followed by Air India (14.6 per cent) and Vistara (9.7 per cent).
