Bangalore Metro’s yellow line driverless train nears completion of stationary tests

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is about to complete stationary tests for the driverless train on its RV Road-Bommasandra stretch (yellow line).

Scheduled to start commercial operations in December 2024, the trains are currently undergoing static tests. These tests include signal and software checks, wiring, communication between various equipment, and functional assessments. Additionally, BMRCL will conduct tests on the third rail, which supplies 750 volts of power to the train, and evaluate train performance.

Integration tests with the signalling system are set to begin on June 7, 2024. These tests are a crucial part of the mainline testing process for the driverless train.
