DP World has launched a multi modal rail freight service named SARAL-2 in collaboration with Avana Logistek between Chennai and National Capital Region (NCR). It is one of a kind first multi modal daily rail freight service having an overall capacity of 500 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) per week. It incorporates coastal, rail and truck operations for lower carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and improved supply chain operations. Earlier, in November 2023, the company had launched a dedicated scheduled rail freight service named Sustainable, Assured, Reliable and Agile Logistics (SARAL) which connects the region of South Gujarat and NCR.
