The government of West Bengal inaugurated a water treatment plant (WTP) at Uttarpara-Kotrung in Hooghly, West Bengal on February 13, 2024. The scope of work included the development of a WTP having a capacity of 55 million gallons per day on a design, build and operate (DBO) basis to cater for a population of about two million people at a cost of Rs 17.6 billion.
