A total of five firms have been shortlisted as technically qualified for implementation of the Digha-Sonepur Six Lane High Level-Extra Dosed Cable Bridge Project (NH-139W).
These include Kalpataru Projects International Limited, Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), Ashoka Buildcon Limited, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), and S. P. Singla Constructions Private Limited. Bids for the same were invited by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in January 2023. The completion and maintenance period is 42 months and 120 months respectively.
The project involves construction of six lane high level/extradosed cable bridge on river Ganga parallel to western side (180 m upstream) of Digha-Sonepur Rail-cum-Road Bridge at Patna on the NH-139W in Bihar at an estimated cost of Rs 26.35 billion EPC mode. The total length of loops on the south side is 10 km (6.925 km and 3.085 km).
