The Ministry of Civil Aviation has cleared the international air connectivity scheme for Guwahati under which Guwahati airport will be connected to seven countries – Singapore, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Malaysia and Vietnam. As per the scheme, the government will provide viability gap funding of Rs 1 billion for three years to operate flights on the selected routes.
