The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) has proposed a 74 per cent cut in the user development fee (UDF) on both international and domestic flights at the Kempegowda international airport. Currently, passengers are being charged a UDF of Rs 1,226 for international flights and Rs 306 for domestic ones. The UDF is proposed to be reduced to Rs 316.80 and Rs 79.20, for international and domestic flights respectively. In this regard, a stakeholders’ consultation meeting was expected to be conducted in June 2018 and a final decision on the tariff will be taken. The order passed by AERA on the tariff will be applicable until March 2020, after which the tariff is proposed to be increased.
