Centre inaugurates various railway projects in Gujarat

The Union Government inaugurated various projects in Gujarat on March 31, 2026. These are:

  • 28 km long Kanalus-Jamnagar section of the Rajkot-Kanalus Railway Line Doubling Project: It involves doubling of the 111.2 km long Rajkot-Kanalus railway line in Gujarat. It was sanctioned in the Railway Budget 2018-19.
  • Gandhidham-Adipur Fourth Rail Line Project: It involves construction of a 10.69 km long fourth rail line between Gandhidham and Adipur in Gujarat.
  • Himmatnagar-Khedbrahma Gauge Conversion Project: It involves gauge conversion of the 55.83 km long Himmatnagar-Khedbrahma railway line in Gujarat at a cost of Rs 4.82 billion. It was sanctioned in the Railway Budget of 2017-18.
