DPRs for Jammu and Srinagar metrolite projects submitted to Centre

Detailed project reports (DPRs) for the Jammu Metrolite Project Phase-I and the Srinagar Metrolite Project Phase-I have been submitted to the Union Government. RITES Limited had prepared the DPR comprehensive surveys and feasibility studies for both the projects.

Besides, about 29.58 hectares permanent and 1.50 hectares temporary land is likely to be acquired for Jammu Metrolite.

For Srinagar Metrolite, detailed topographical surveys, traffic studies, engineering feasibility, and financial and economic analysis have been carried out.

The Jammu Metrolite Project includes a 23 km long corridor with 22 stations connecting Bantalab to Bari Brahmana Railway station.

The Srinagar Metrolite project involves development of 25 km long elevated light rail routes in two corridors viz. Corridor-1 (12.5 km, 12 stations) will connect HMT Junction to Indra Nagar and Corridor-2 (12.5 km, 12 stations) will connect Osmanabad to Hazuri Bagh.
