The Maharashtra government has released equity worth Rs 1 billion for the Nagpur Metro Rail Project Phase II and the Swargate-Katraj Metro Project. Of this, Rs 0.4 billion is for Swargate-Katraj, while the remaining Rs 0.6 billion is for the Nagpur Metro Rail Project Phase II. The Nagpur project involves the expansion of the metro network in Nagpur by 43.8 km to provide connectivity to nearby towns and villages at an estimated cost of Rs 67.08 billion. The Swargate-Katraj metro project involves the extension of Corridor 1 (Pimpri-Chinchwad-Swargate) of the Pune Metro Rail Project Phase I from Swargate to Katraj. It will be implemented by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited.
