The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted the aerodrome license to Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) for the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, located in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh on March 6, 2026.
The license allows the airport to operate under the public use category and support all-weather operations.
The airport features a 3,900 m × 45 m runway oriented 10/28, equipped with an instrument landing system (ILS) and an aeronautical ground lighting (AGL) system, enabling round-the-clock flight operations. It also includes aircraft parking stands for 24 Code C and two Code D/F aircraft. With aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) category 9 facilities, the airport can accommodate wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 777-300ER.
The airport is being developed in four phases and would also feature a multimodal cargo hub. In its first phase, the airport will have a terminal and a single runway, with a capacity to handle about 12 million passengers per annum (mppa), eventually expanding to a capacity of 70 mppa.
