The cost for implementation of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (HSR) Corridor Project is likely to escalate to Rs 1,980 billion. Slow land acquisition, finalisation of rolling stock, and clearance processes have significantly increased the overall expenditure.
The project involves development of the 508.17 km long Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR corridor in Maharashtra and Gujarat with an investment of Rs 1,080 billion.
