Allcargo Terminals Limited, a subsidiary of the Allcargo Group, has expanded the container freight station (CFS) near Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNP) in Mumbai. The annual handling capacity of the facility has been increased from 190,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) to 360,000 TEUs, 89 per cent increase.
The upgrade is part of the company’s three-year strategic plan focused on scaling operations, digitisation, and infrastructure enhancement across its national network. The facility now features rubber tyred gantry (RTG)-enabled tag-less yard operations, a 25 per cent increase in warehousing, and dedicated zones for special and over-dimensional cargo, alongside digital tools like the MyCFS app and smart yard management systems for paperless workflows.
The expanded CFS will improve turnaround times and operational efficiency, aligning with the port’s aim to handle 10 million TEUs by 2027.
