About 50 per cent of work on Supply of Raw Water to WTPs at Assonora, Guirim, Pilerne, Chandel, Mopa, Dhargal project gets completed

About 50 per cent work has been completed on the supply of raw water to water treatment plants at Assonora, Guirim, Pilerne, Chandel, Mopa and Dhargal in Goa. The project is likely to be completed by March 2026. The project includes providing uninterrupted raw water supply of around 250 million litres per day to the drinking water treatment plants at Assonora, Guirim and Pilerne on the left bank main canal, and Chandel, Mopa and Dhargal on the right bank main canal. This will be achieved through the construction of a barrage across the Chapora river, a raw water pumping station at Sal and Amthane and associated gravity/rising pipelines. The project is being carried out in three parts. The scope of work for Part I includes the construction of a barrage across the Chapora river at Sal. The scope of work for Part II includes the construction of a pump house along with pump and accessories as well as a transformer substation at Sal, and the laying of 1,200 mm diameter ductile iron rising main from Sal to Amthane, and the construction of a break pressure tank. The scope of work for Part III includes the construction of pump house along with pump and accessories as well as a transformer substation at Amthane, the laying of a 1,200 mm diameter ductile iron rising main from Amthane to Dhangarwada, and the construction of a break pressure tank.
