Hindustan Power secures contract from SECI for solar-plus-storage project

Hindustan Power has secured a contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) to develop a solar-plus-storage project with a contracted output of 150 MW. The project will require the deployment of approximately 300 MW of solar capacity along with 300 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS), under SECI’s interstate transmission services-connected solar and storage tender.

The project was awarded through tariff-based competitive bidding followed by an e-reverse auction. It will be designed for flexible deployment at suitable locations across India. Hindustan Power is also commissioning projects, including a 435 MW solar plant in Uttar Pradesh, a 100 MW solar and 100 MW project in Assam, and a 120 MWh storage facility in Bihar. The company has also secured a contract from SJVN Limited for a 100 MW solar project paired with 200 MWh of storage.
