DP World Cochin achieves an all-time record for the second consecutive year, surpassing 800,000 TEUs in FY 2024-25

DP World’s International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) in Cochin has set a new record in FY 2024-25, by handling 834,665 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), marking an 11 per cent year-on-year growth. This surpasses the previous record of handling 754,237 TEUs achieved in the FY 2023-24. Additionally, volume records were achieved across multiple business segments, including foreign exports, coastal exports, reefer shipments, and the highest single-vessel volume transaction. DP World Cochin recorded 640 vessel calls, one of the highest annual figures in South and East India, underscoring its critical role in regional trade and supply chain efficiency.

In FY 2024-25, DP World Cochin significantly expanded its capacity through strategic infrastructure upgrades. These included the addition of new ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, electrified rubber-tyred gantry cranes (e-RTGs), and expanded yard space, increasing the terminal’s total capacity to approximately 1.4 million TEUs. The terminal also successfully handled multiple ultra large container vessels (ULCVs) exceeding 350 meters in length over the past year, demonstrating its capability to accommodate increasing trade volumes.
