The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the Narkatiaganj-Muzaffarpur railway line doubling project and the Errupalem-Namburu new rail line project worth Rs 67.98 billion to facilitate ease in connectivity and boost economic growth. These are:
Narkatiaganj-Muzaffarpur railway line doubling project involves doubling the existing 256 km long rail line between Narkatiaganj, Raxaul, Sitamarhi and Darbhanga along with Sitamarhi and Muzaffarpur section in Bihar at an estimated cost of Rs 25.5 billion.
Errupalem-Namburu new rail line project involves laying a 57 km long new rail line from Errupalem to Namburu via Amravati at an estimated cost of Rs 22.45 billion in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh respectively.
