Circular released by DGCA for vertical take-off and landing capable aircraft

An advisory circular was released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on the baseline airworthiness criteria for the type certification of vertical take-off and landing capable aircraft (VCA).

Currently, VCA are powered by electrical systems. The move targets to streamline the certification process and ensure safety and reliability of the emerging electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) technologies. Comprehensive safety requirements on the design, construction, structural strength, flight performance, and other information for the type certification of eVTOL aircraft are provided in the advisory.

The DGCA also recently issued an advisory circular on vertiports for the eVTOLs.
