Renovation works at the old terminal building of the Pune airport in Maharashtra are likely to commence in October 2024. The expected completion of the project is by March 2025. The old terminal building will be extended and modernised to provide an improved travel experience.
As part of the expansion, the arrival hall of the old building would be converted to an extended departure hall that would be connected to the new terminal through a corridor. Some of the facilities that the revamped area would feature include 16 additional check-in counters, and security check equipped with advanced door frame metal detectors and X-ray machines.
Few flights that currently operate from the old terminal would move to the new terminal once the necessary clearance from the immigration is obtained.
