Uttar Pradesh’s first green road project in Meerut to be completed by 2026

Uttar Pradesh will complete its inaugural integrated green road project in Meerut under the Chief Minister Green Road Infrastructure Development Scheme. This project will transform a 2.15 km stretch of Gadh Road, extending from Gandhi Ashram to Tejgarhi. Managed by the Meerut Municipal Corporation, the initiative is spearheaded by the Urban Road Infrastructure Development Agency, with a budget of Rs 400 million.

The project aims to create a sustainable, eco-friendly road, with completion expected by June 2026. Plans are also in place to replicate this green road model in 12 more cities across the state. Tenders are currently being processed by 14 additional municipal corporations, including Lucknow, to implement similar projects.
