Reliance Jio has announced that it is partnering with Qualcomm Technologies to develop affordable 5G devices and enhance digital infrastructure in India. This collaboration aims to provide high-speed internet and seamless connectivity, particularly in remote areas of the country.
Qualcomm, has unveiled its most cost-effective 5G chipset designed specifically for the Indian market. The new snapdragon 4s gen 2 platform will enable smartphone manufacturers to launch 5G devices priced below Rs 8,200.
Qualcomm has partnered with Jio, along with Xiaomi to drive the adoption of affordable 5G solutions in India. As part of this collaboration, Xiaomi will be the first brand to introduce a 5G smartphone powered by the new chipset, which is expected to hit the market by the end of 2024, making high-speed 5G connectivity accessible to millions of Indian consumers.
