Western Railway has commenced survey work for KAVACH deployment on the Mumbai Central-Virar route which covers a total distance of 54 km. The deployment is expected to be completed by March 2026 and is expected to cost Rs 1 million for each km.
Besides, KAVACH is already deployed on the Virar-Surat stretch. Also, loco trials of the KAVACH system have been completed over 405 km of the total 789 km stretch between Virar and Nagda, to date.
