The Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) has completed the prototype testing of indigenously manufactured containers in accordance with the International Marine Organisation (IMO) International Convention for Safe Containers (CSC). In 2021, the IRS launched the service to provide certification of marine containers by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India to undertake inspection and certification of containers as per the IMO International CSC.
