IOCL to expand Digboi refinery capacity to 1 mtpa

IOCL plans to expand the capacity of its Di­gboi refinery from 0.65 mtpa to 1 mtpa. According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the co­nfiguration st­udy is expected to be completed by January 2022, followed by first-stage in­­vestment approval by March 2022. IOCL also has plans to further in­c­rease the capacity of the Duliajan-Digboi crude pi­peline capacity from 0.65 mtpa to 1 mtpa, so as to meet the increased output from the Digboi re­­finery. Furthermore, IOCL intends to increase the capacity of the Gu­wahati refinery from 1 mtpa to 1.2 mtpa and commission it by October 2023.
