Government inaugurates Bina (MP)-Panki (UP) multiproduct pipeline project

The central government has inaugurated a multiproduct pipeline of 365 km from the Bina refinery, Madhya Pradesh, to the POL terminal at Panki, Ut­tar Pradesh. The pipeline has a capacity of around 3.45 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). The project also includes the augmentation of tankage capacity and construction of a rail loading gantry at the Panki POL terminal. The aggregate cost of the project is Rs 15.24 billion. The project covers five districts in Uttar Pradesh and two districts in Madhya Pradesh. The project will offer a safe way to evacuate petroleum products from the Bina refinery and improve the availability of petroleum products in eastern Uttar Pradesh, central Uttar Pradesh, northern Bihar and southern Uttarakhand.
