Railways inaugurate Katwa-Azimganj and Monigram-Nalhati sections of the Katwa-Azimganj-Nalhati and Azimganj-Tildanga/New Farakka Railway Electrification Project

The MoR inaugurated the 140 km Katwa-Azimganj and Monigram-Nalhati sections of the Katwa-Azimganj-Nalhati and Azimganj-Tildanga/New Farakka railway electrification project on February 13, 2020. The project, which is being implemented by the Central Organisation for Railway Electrification, involves the electrification of the existing Katwa-Azimganj-Nalhati and Azimganj-Tildanga/New Farakka railway lines in West Bengal at an investment of Rs 2,829.2 million. The electrification project was sanctioned in Railway Budget 2014-15.
