TRAI has released a consultation paper on unsolicited commercial communications. The consultation paper notes that customers are receiving unsolicited communications despite registering their preference for not receiving them. Therefore, TRAI has sought stakeholder views on the present preference registration system and the ways and means to make the system more effective and efficient.
