The Government of Haryana and the Government of Himachal Pradesh are expected to sign an MoU for the development of various infrastructure works under the Saraswati River rejuvenation project. The project involves the construction of a dam in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh at an estimated cost of Rs 2.15 billion, a reservoir in three villages of Yamunanagar district of Haryana to supply water to the Saraswati river during shortage of water in the dam, and the development of a barrage with a cumulative storage capacity of 1,674 hectare metres. The total cost of the project is Rs 3.88 billion.
