Tata Power signs MoU with BPCL for 110 kV infrastructure at Mumbai refinery

Tata Power has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to develop 110 kV power infrastructure for its Petro Resid Fluidised Catalytic Cracking Unit (PRFCCU) project at the Mumbai Refinery. The infrastructure will cater to the project’s 90 MW power requirement.
The PRFCCU project has a processing capacity of 3 million metric tonnes per annum and entails an investment of approximately Rs 142.03 billion. It is BPCL’s second-largest project under execution and the largest project at its Mumbai Refinery. Under the MoU, Tata Power will provide 110 kV connectivity and develop the associated power infrastructure. The infrastructure is expected to be completed in around 24 months, involving a combined estimated investment of Rs 2.5 billion by Tata Power and BPCL, subject to approvals and project milestones.
