Tata Electronics’ exports near Rs 1 trillion in FY26 as Apple deepens India manufacturing push

Tata Electronics, India’s largest homegrown contract manufacturer of iPhones, reported exports of nearly Rs 1 trillion in financial year 2025-26 (FY26), rising over 29 per cent from a year earlier, led by shipments to the United States, Taiwan and Ireland, where Apple has its European headquarters.

Three Tata Electronics entities together reported export revenues of Rs 991.28 billion in FY26, according to filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC), underscoring the Tata Group’s growing role in Apple’s global supply chain as the technology giant expands manufacturing beyond China. The three entities are Tata Electronics, Tata Electronics Products and Solutions (formerly Pegatron Technology India, a joint venture in which Tata Electronics holds 60 per cent and Taiwan’s Pegatron 40 per cent), and Tata Electronics System Solutions, the former Wistron business acquired by the group.

Exports to the US rose nearly 40 per cent to Rs 385.08 billion, while shipments to Taiwan stood at Rs 479.30 billon and to Ireland at Rs 119.80 billion. Exports accounted for approximately 76 per cent of reported production revenue. The combined foreign exchange outgo of the three entities at Rs 1.29 trillion significantly exceeded forex earnings, indicating that iPhone manufacturing in India remains heavily dependent on imported components.
