The construction work on Thiruvarur-Karaikkudi Rail Electrification Project has been completed with the statutory inspection conducted on 71 km long Pattukottai-Karaikudi section.
Besides, Southern Railway (SR) zone has also achieved 100 per cent electrification of its 5,068 route km (rkm) Broad-Gauge (BG) network with completion of the project.
The project involved electrification of the 150-km long Thiruvarur-Thiruthuraipoondi-Pattukottai-Aranthangi-Karaikudi section in the state of Tamil Nadu.
