TBM Divya achieves breakthrough at Victoria station under Kolkata Metro Expansion Project

Tunnel boring machine (TBM) Divya achieved breakthrough at Victoria station on August 11, 2026 under the Kolkata Metro Expansion Project.  It was commissioned at Kidderpore station on October 11, 2025 and travelled for about 1.72 km till Victoria.

The project involves expansion of the existing metro rail network in Kolkata in West Bengal by 88.55 km with an investment of Rs 193.94 billion. The expansion plan includes Joka to Benoy Badal Dinesh (BBD) Bagh-Diamond Park (18.72 km), Noapara to Barasat via Airport (Bimanbandar) (18.13 km), Airport to Kavi Subhas (New Garia) via Rajarhat (32 km), Baranagar to Barrackpore and Dakshineswar (14.5 km), Dum Dum to Baranagar (5.2 km).
