AdaniConneX has partnered with DE-CIX India to establish a new point of presence (PoP) at its Chennai 1 data centre in the SIPCOT region, aimed at improving data exchange, reducing latency and strengthening Chennai’s position as a key digital connectivity hub in India.
The new interconnection hub will enable businesses, cloud providers and telecom operators to exchange data closer to where it is generated and consumed, improving network speed, reliability and performance for digital services used by consumers and enterprises. The collaboration supports rising demand for low-latency infrastructure driven by cloud computing, data localisation and data-intensive applications.
Chennai plays a critical role in India’s digital infrastructure owing to its international subsea cable landing stations, which connect the country to major global internet routes. Combined with its growing data centre ecosystem, the city has become a key location for cloud services and international data traffic.
Through the deployment, customers at AdaniConneX’s Chennai 1 facility will gain direct access to DE-CIX India’s internet exchange, cloud connectivity and enterprise networking services. The platform connects more than 600 networks, including telecom operators, internet service providers, content platforms and global cloud companies. AdaniConneX and DE-CIX India also plan to explore expanding interconnection capabilities across additional campuses to support India’s broader digital growth.
