Ministry of Railways sanctions four projects across three states

The Ministry of Railways (MoR) sanctioned multiple key rail infrastructure projects to accelerate capacity, connectivity and operational efficiency across three states- Rajasthan, Kerala and West Bengal. These are as follows:

  • Shri Ganganagar Coach Maintenance Facility Project (Phase-I) involves development of a modern coach maintenance facility at Shri Ganganagar Station (Phase-I) in Rajasthan at an estimated cost of Rs 1.74 billion. The project will include new washing lines, stabling lines, pit lines and modern equipment to handle more rakes and improve maintenance efficiency.
  • Lalgarh Coaching Maintenance Augmentation Project (Phase-II) involves augmentation of coaching maintenance facilities at Lalgarh in Rajasthan (Phase-II) at an estimated cost of Rs 1.39 billion, aimed at enhancing depot capabilities for Vande Bharat and Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) train sets. The sanctioned works include construction of a 600 m washing line, provision of a covered shed over four washing lines, extension of the sick line by 120 m by 16 m, and construction of a 1000 square metre service building.
