The Ministry of Coal will launch the 14th round of commercial coal mine auctions. The 14th round will offer a fresh set of fully and partially explored coal blocks under liberalised terms to attract both established players and new entrants. For the first time, the auction framework will include provisions for underground coal gasification, enabling the extraction of deep-seated, unmineable reserves. In line with the digital India initiative, the Ministry will launch the coal land acquisition, management and payment portal to digitise the land acquisition, compensation, and rehabilitation processes across coal public sector units.
The platform will serve as a central repository of land records, enabling real-time tracking and reducing procedural delays. Additionally, the Koyla Shakti dashboard will be launched as a unified interface integrating the coal supply chain from mine to market. It aims to improve coordination among coal companies, ports, railways, and end users through real-time data sharing, enhancing supply chain reliability and governance.
