Uttar Pradesh government approves Farrukhabad greenfield expressway worth Rs 74.88 billion

The government of Uttar Pradesh has approved the development of an access-controlled greenfield link expressway that will connect the Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the Ganga Expressway through Farrukhabad, with an estimated project cost of Rs 74.88 billion.

The almost 91 km six-lane (expandable to eight-lane) expressway is planned using the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) model. It will begin at Kutral (Etawah) on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and conclude at Sawaijpur (Hardoi) on the Ganga Expressway. The construction work will be finished in 548 days, and the contract includes a five-year maintenance provision.

Three major expressways will be connected by the new corridor: the Bundelkhand Expressway, which crosses the Agra-Lucknow length at Kutral; the Agra-Lucknow Expressway; and the Ganga Expressway (Meerut to Prayagraj), which is presently undergoing development.
